What We Believe

Historic Christian faith, clearly confessed.

Our beliefs are rooted in the Scriptures and expressed within the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition.

The essentials of our faith.

The following summary is a starting point. Ramsay Memorial receives the Bible as the supreme and final authority for what we believe and how we live.

The Bible

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and our authoritative rule for faith and life.

The Triune God

There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, reigns as Lord, and will come again.

Salvation by Grace

We are reconciled to God by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not by our own merit or works.

The Church

The church is the covenant people of God, called to worship, discipleship, fellowship, mercy, and witness in the world.

The Sacraments

Christ gave His church Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as signs and seals of His covenant grace.

Christian Life

By the Holy Spirit, believers are formed in holiness, love, obedience, and service as grateful responses to God’s grace.

Our Hope

We await the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the everlasting renewal of all things.

A congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church

The EPC is a Presbyterian denomination committed to the Great Commission, biblical faithfulness, Reformed theology, and liberty in non-essential matters.
